I know that I’ve made a review about my visit to OHKA before (here), but this time I’m more than excited to share my second time having lunch at OHKA. It was much much better than the first one. Well, I didn’t really enjoy the first time at OHKA because at that time some of the foods were bland and half of them were spicy. The only food that I really really love is their cha-soba (Cold Ramen Soy-Sauce) . However, overall it wasn’t that bad tho.
So, this time LilSis visited OHKA with BigSis and MidSis and our fellow #SnapFoodie members (ci Lydia and ko Jonathan). We were invited by them to try some of their menus and their new dessert. This time, I won’t talk much about their interior as I had shared it before. It was filled with Japanese influenced decoration and so on. Nothing really change about their interior design, so now let’s move on to their foods 🙂
Kani Cream Croquette, 36k
At first, all of us didn’t have any idea about this dish. But, when we took a bite, the secret came to the surface. 😉 It was Kani Croquette a.k.a Crab Imitation Croquette. The croquette was fried perfectly hence the panko shell became so crispy and when you take a bite you will taste that luscious creamy sauce and of course the kani. I thought the kani was quite big and I found it was a lil bit hard to eat it using a spoon. Maybe I should have eaten it using my hands.. (I’m just talking to myself LOL pardon my randomness)
Tomato Cheese Omelette, 38k
Look at that sexy creamy mayonnaise! I need to say that their omelette never fail to amuse our camera. It’s just too photogenic. Taste wise, it was great and it became BigSis favorite instantly. When you (how should I said it?) dig your spoon into the omelette, you’ll end up with a spoon full of omelette+cheese goodness. There were cheese everywhere in the omelette. But for LilSis, it was just too creamy as you will eat a lot of cheese and mayo together.
Talking about the sauce that was drizzled on the omelette, it gave this dish another plus point. However, if I’m not wrong, I couldn’t taste any tomatoes here. Maybe it was just me, or maybe not. Overall, this tomato cheese omelette was a nice dish. 🙂
Soy Sauce Cold Ramen, 60k
Consist cold Ramen, Chashu (pork), chuka kurage (seasoned jellyfish), tamago (egg), lettuce, nori, and soy sauce dressing.
I don’t know if I made a mistake on my old post about OHKA. But this dish is also called Soy Sauce Cold Ramen. But now let’s just forget about the name problem and talk about the taste. Well, one of the reason I got super excited to write our experience visiting OHKA was this dish! I, once again, (also MidSis) am head-over-heels for OHKA Cold Ramen. It was just too good!
To eat this dish, you’ll need to mix everything together. I don’t recommend you to only eat the ramen without the toppings as it could get too salty. Their toppings are there to balance your dish. FYI, I really love their soy sauce dressing. It wasn’t too salty and it really gave a nice taste to the cold ramen. The chashu (sliced pork) was nice too. They don’t give you the fat only (which we really appreciate. Who like to eat ramen with too-fatty pork?), but the meat too. It was cooked nicely resulting a tender and juicy pork.
And then their chuka kurage was so damn good! How should I describe it.. It had that chewy-crunchy texture and was seasoned perfectly. My heart fell once again after I took a bite of their chuka kurage. (okay, sounds so exaggerating but it’s true tho.) Overall, it was the best dish of the day for us.
Wagyu Teriyaki Don, (promo price) 99k
At first I didn’t expect this dish to be so good. However, it turned out to be a great dish. The fragrant rice was drizzled with a super delicious teriyaki sauce that compliment this dish very well. The wagyu (beef) was cooked and seasoned perfectly until it’s a little bit crispy on the outside but still maintain its tenderness. Nice one!
Mini Set (Buta Don, Niku Udon, Salad), 80k
This mini set consist mini buta don, mini niku udon, and salad. We didn’t take a photograph of the set, but you could see it from the picture above. We want to give a big applause for OHKA for making us couldn’t move on from their delicious buta don. The pork was very tender, juicy, and it goes along well with the rice and the teriyaki sauce. Their niku udon is another great dish on this mini set. The noodle was great but not that wonderful. Overall, it’s our favorite after the Soy Sauce Cold Ramen. :9
Tropical Fruit Punch, 22,5k
Their fruit puch was great but I prefer it to be a little more sour as it was sweet. But almost all of us enjoy their fruit punch very well.
Strawberry Cream Soda, 25k
And here comes BigSis favorite again. The soda gave us a ‘wake-up-call’ and the strawberry gave a balance to the sweetness that came from the vanilla ice cream.
Boozy Rum, 28k
This is their new dessert. Consisting Banana Katsu, cornflakes, rum raisin ice cream, and dusted with cinnamon dust, everybody who like rum raisin need to try this dessert. The rum flavor was very strong – in a good way – and the banana katsu was fried nicely.
Butterscotch Bliss, 28k
This one is the Boozy Rum’s partner. It consist banana katsu, froot loops, vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with butterscotch sauce. We prefer their Butterscotch Bliss better than Boozy Rum as we don’t really like rum. For the banana katsu, it’s as delicious as the banana katsu in Boozy Rum.
All in all, we had a great and marvelous lunch at OHKA. The service was nice, and the waitress were polite and fast-responding. Thanks for the lunch OHKA. Let’s eat, foodies! 🙂
